Hewlett Packard 2000C
Sporting a radically different design, the 2000C Professional Series colour printer is targeted at SoHo and small workgroups. Four individually replaceable ink cartridges reduce ink wastage and save cost. The print heads are separate from the cartridges and are individually replaceable. The 2000C is also available with network options. The toolbox software installed along with the printer drivers displays an ink status for each individual cartridge and also provides troubleshooting and maintenance options. The printer was fast in terms of print speed, taking 1.13, 3.25, and 6.30 minutes, respectively, for the three test files (text, combo and image file, respectively). With respect to print quality however, the performance was slightly below average. The device could not distinguish properly between light and dark shades of colours, and the colours in the image file were not properly reproduced. The overall score of 67 is above average though, and the printer makes for a fast and heavy-duty office printer.
